History of Highway Office 12 (Suphan Buri)

The Department of Highways issued Order No. 9/4/2531 dated April 19, 2531, establishing the Suphan Buri Highway District. It was later renamed Highway Office 10 (Suphan Buri) by Department Order No. 1.7/5/2534 dated June 17, 2534. Subsequently, Department Order No. 1/3/2538 dated June 30, 2538, mandated the relocation of the office from its temporary location at the Sanguan Prapha Building, opposite Wat Pa Lelai, to its current location at 123 Moo 1, Ban U Ya, Don Kamyan Subdistrict, Mueang District, Suphan Buri Province, on Highway No. 321 (Malai Man Road), Uthong-Suphan Buri section, at Km. 97+674 LT. in 2532 (1989).

Highway Office 10 (Suphan Buri) is responsible for supervision... This department oversees the administration of highway districts and maintenance offices in the central and western regions. It manages six highway districts and maintenance offices: Suphan Buri Highway District 1, Kanchanaburi Highway District 2, Kanchanaburi-Suphan Buri Highway District 2, Chainat Highway District, Uthai Thani Highway District, and the Ang Thong-Ayutthaya Maintenance Office. The total distance under its responsibility is 3,349.278 km.

According to the Department of Highways Order No. J.1.9/5/2558 concerning the improvement of the areas of responsibility of Highway Offices 1-18, as per the Ministerial Regulation on the Division of Government Agencies of the Department of Highways, Ministry of Transport, B.E. 2538 (1995), and published in the Royal Gazette on January 27, 2015, the name of the Highway Office was changed to the Highway Office to ensure continuity, efficiency, and effectiveness in the department's administration. Therefore, the area of ​​responsibility is assigned to Highway Office 12, which is responsible for the area of ​​Highway Office 10, comprising Suphan Buri Highway District 1, Kanchanaburi Highway District, Suphan Buri Highway District 2 (Uthong), Chainat Highway District, Uthai Thani Highway District, and Ang Thong Highway District.
